Her father was a shoemaker
She had 2 brothers & 1 sister
She & Andrew left Ireland by boat in 1849 & settled in Newburgh, Orange County, New York
In 1852 along with six of their children (Andrew & Rebecca remaind behind) went west to Section 14, Charleston Township, Michigan.
She was of Scotch Irish parents of the house of Leslie in scotland who kept the name intact by inheritance from father to son for 700 years.
All their childern’s births are registered in a heavy book, still in existance (Except John’s)
