Mrs. Clayton Hamblin of Jackson, was fatally injured when the
automobile in which she was riding with her husband collided with a
truck on M-16 a mile and a half west of Portland. The husband was
slightly injured.
Hamblin's car skidded on the slippery pavement and crashed head-on
into a truck and trailer driven by Clive H. Bevins of Dearborn. State
Police investigating the accident absolved Bevins of blame and did not
hold him.
Mr. and Mrs. Hamblin were brought to a Lansing hospital but Mrs.
Hamblin died before reaching here.
