Edward Marentette bptized Edmund, born 2 March 1892 Woodslee, Ontario, died
4 September 1963. He was told by his parents to leave home, and get a job,
when he was 15. Died 4 September 1963. His first job was in Detroit, as a
chauffer, for a rich old lady. He later became the manager of her
speak-easy (cabaret until he enlisted in the US army, during WWI. He and
William were in the same company, attached to a machine gun battalion. He
was awarded severa medals for bravery.
When he returned home, he went into business with his brother Ray. They did
painting, and decorating. His next employment was operating night
clubs,until he retired. He then moved to northern Michigan, and built
cabins. He lived in a large lodge, he built in Mio, Michigan, where he
lived with his common-in-law wife Caroline Noivion of Bay City, Michigan.
His funeral was held at Ste Mary's church, Mio, Michigan 10 am 7 September
1963, mass by Rev Bernardine Rypiniskiy.
